[NSEH Short] Why

The house has never felt so empty as it does now, as if all the contact and bonds were torn apart, shrouded windows with empty rooms and raffish walls, hollow objects with so many memories left behind in heated moments, in the most sincere times, touched by others not so long ago yet the dust claimed surface of every single thing in its reach. Light just barely penetrating in frail beams from behind the curtains, porch and stairs buried under a pile of dead Autumn leaves - the house once thrived in colours of its residents' presence, but now it stands alone, dead together with its past.

"Why" Camille watched the trees sway in an intense storm running outside, the raindrops leaving watery trails connecting with other drops. She expected an answer but even after few patient moments, her gaze turns to her right. Her golden eyes glow with a hankering sentiment, analyzing her roommate standing alongside, observing the heavy rain storming. She lets out a sigh and averts her sight back towards the wide window in front of them. "You have an attitude, for an android-" The dark-haired man interrupts Camille in mid-sentence, turning to face her with an emotionless, vacant expression. "You didn't ask anything specific, your question was cryptic and could be hinting at any possible thing, I advise you to go straight to the point, lieutenant Camille Destie." The female soldier stops abruptly, seemingly taken aback but the machine's sudden response. She hates dealing with androids, especially He has been a troublesome one. Camille shakes off her unease and clears her throat, keeping her outward appearance calm and mildly irritated facade isn't absent. She looks down and back at him. "Do all of you act like smartass witlings? I can see some psychological improvement they did on you recently, immediate file scan, impressive." Camille folds her arms and pierces the android with her strong gaze. "You know what I mean by the 'cryptic question', stop bullshitting and cut to the point. Why have you cut yourself off of the network, aTO12?" Something moves in the machine's eyes, something changes inside, a spark, something important and unpredictable, an unknown response to the woman's statement and its unbeatable truth. He blinks as his synthetic brain processes a suitable answer, but in vain, he opens his mouth as if to say something only to close it again and pin his stare to the ground. "There's a reason behind it, isn't there? Assigned to investigate the Enway state regiment for the possible presence of an adult shapeshifter and I'm pretty sure you found it but something happened and that led you to go..." Camille pauses. "Defect." A sudden rush of emotion gets a hold of the android as his eyes widen and he swiftly turns around to grip the lieutenant by her uniform, lifting her with an immense ease. She gasps for air in the shock, kicking his shin that sends him kneeling. Camille falls onto the wooden floor and attempts to stand up, bewildered in panic, however, she stumbles and is immediately snatched by the angered artificial lifeform. She struggles. "I am NOT a defect, I am sick and tired of this neverending game-" "I'- I'm not here for you- Akito-" Camille exclaims throughout squeezing pressure on her neck. The man stops and so does the pain. He tilts his head and recalls a confused, incredulous expression towards the soldier lying on the ground. "Huh? Then what are you here for!?" Akito hisses. "Let- Let me explain, I know it's him. I know it's Allen..."
