Not So Empty House (Part 3)

N..no..nononononono..no no... It can't be, it can't be my finish yet- It can NOT! The presence, so tremendous and unbearable, dreadful and terrible, awful and macabre. My pupil shrinks and my heart starts racing as never before. My blood flows through my body so fast, my nerves start to freak out more and more - sending signals into my brain. Danger. DANGER! I walk faster, quicker, rapidly increasing my speed feeling as if my hip bone's joints gonna burst at any moment. Not running yet. That entity, it's getting closer! D-DON'T- STOP! I mustn't stop. I mustn't stop- My soul wriggles inside my crispy shell, I feel like a prey being hunted down. Escaping in vain!... that creatures has me in its long claws. It has already grasped me, trapped me, because my perseverance is absurd in compare with others. Stress is taking over, farewell-

"Don't . Stop . Walking."

This voice.

"Al-"

A pale hand grips mine from behind. A man I know very well that is. Allen. We exchange positions, him being in front of me gripping my hand tight, too tight it hurts. Where did he come from? Was he the one torturing my psyche? Where was he this entire time? What is- I don't even use legs anymore, I have just realized, I'm literally like a rag - sweeping through the air. I feel safer?.

"Don't look behind you."

I look behind me. I- Feared..Allen turns his head over his shoulder to check on me, frowning.

"What did I just say, twat- oh my holy mother of Joseph."

Our eyes widen upon seeing the thing behind us, barely digging itself inside my pristine flesh. He runs even faster.. faster, and faster and faster! The world around me changes into a streak of blackness and long white lines resembling the street lights. I look back at Allen, pinning my stare on his back as he drags me lightly. We're abnormally fast, no, he's abnormally fast, abnormally strong, abnormally brave... I heard many things about him, and when we first met, I'd never believe it. But right now? I experienced a true enlightenment. The best of him comes at night. I understand what my friends meant by this statement. He's certainly not a puppet, but if he is - then I have made friend of a monster.

"Just a little further!"

His voice pulls me out of my thoughts and places me back into reality. I don't feel my hand anymore. I look at my hand he's stil gripping.. It's dying. I think to myself and again, not saying anything. So stubborn.

"649, 650, 651, 652, 653-"

He's counting numbers on the houses. We're close! On the very end of this street, our rescue awaits. I close my eyes and clench my other hand into a fist. Determination, fight, desire to live. I'm not going to give up, we're not giving up, yet.

"654, 655- 656!"

He makes a sharp u-turn and kicks the door of our house open, throwing me on the ground and sealing the door with a table, locking it.

"O-Ouch-..."

I rub my head as I just hit the hard wooden floor.

"OH MY GOSH! What happened!"

I hear Bream rushing from the kitchen together with Andy and Camille. All of them are terrified and worried. Allen sits down on the floor next to me, breathing heavily, staring at the door. Complete silence comes from the outside, like if nothing ever chased us. His eyes don't even blink, his muscles are twitchig. On guard, still.

"What the hell?!"

Camille bends over to me and Allen, folding her arms and looking at each alternately.

"Are you out of your mind?!"

Bream yells, incredulously glaring at Allen.

"What happened?"

Andy was in his younger form again, hiding - peeking from behind Bream. I gulp, gasp for air and turn around to look at all my confused roommates. Smilling but still scared and I wave my hand shakily, awkwardly greeting them. Camille grabs my hand and pulls me up.

"Could you finally let out a word? Guys-! Why-"

"We were chased by.. by-"

I turn at Allen.

"What was that *pant pant* thing again?"

He remains absolutely silent, hypnotizing the door. Everyone look at each other, Bream the most sceptical sighed and patted my back, brushing the dust off from my clothes. So motherly and caring.

"Just- take off the shoes and.. come inside finally..."

Said Camille and with her arms folded, she returns back inside the kitchen. Andy stands still, looking anxious and guilty. His nice violet eyes watering slowly. Bream puts her hands on her hips.

"What were you even doing outside?!"

She asked. I was prepared to asnwer immediately, thereupon Andy started crying and ran towards me, hugging and squeezing me.

"I'm so sorry for letting you- *sniff* go outside! I am so so sorry! W-waaaa- *sniff*"

I was confused, stroking his head.

"H-hey! What are you talking about? You did nothing wrong, Andy!"

He but continued in his cry.

"It's my fault! It's my fault! I should've been the one going to the Noor's this late!"

Bream shook her head.

"You could've at least waited, I already bought food.."

"But.. well... we have more food now e-h?"

I add. Not realizing one thing.

"And- *sniff* Not only I put you in danger- 'they' took your ba-*sniff* aaaaaag!!"

What?! I didn't notice the thing stealing my bag at all!.. Oh no, now I've lost Andy's savings and the food I promised. I bury my head into Andy's warm sweather, completely guilty of my mindless and careless actions with the precious bag. Bream pats backs of us both, smilling kindly, helping us up.

"It's alright.. we have enough food and money for a week. There's nothing to worry about, now, hurry up and stuff yourselves, let's not waste time by this right now, I will report it to the police when I go to work tomorrow, alright?"

Andy and I nod, going to the kitchen.

[My memory ends here]

". . .Aluminum?"

Bream puts her hand on Allen shoulder, worried about him greatly.

"What was it about, right now..? And in the morning? Did something happ-"

He turns around, facing at Bream, looking down with much calmer expression now. Half-closed eyes and tired voice.

"I'll be going now.."

He says, standing up, leaning over a wall to gain balance. His bones crack loudly in his movement. Bream tensely watches.

"Where are you going, you're not going to spend time with u-"

"I'm sorry. I'm not feeling well."

Allen interrupts and limps the entire way to the back at his room's door.

"I can't believe you've strained yourself this early after your awakening. You're so hopeless, Aluminum." Bream stops him from entering. Yet he remains silent again.

"Just because you're some kind of.. shapeshifter, being not similar to us- or however you're being called, that doesn't make you a hero."

...He enters either way. Shutting the door behind him forcefully.

"I'm going to make you a pudding at least.."

To be contined
