Fickle Fate

“Fate is always fickle, that’s what makes it so interesting”

Struggle. That struggle. Worms wriggling within skulls, feeding of little meaty leftovers, still stuck to some bones and ribs that weren't devoured by that creature, sitting in his bloody armchair near a warm fireplace. Some worms fell of the pile of death and were stuck on the ground. He smirked, staring at the insect.

"My, my~ these little wriggling intruders just met with their doom.."

Vincent grabbed that abomination and squished it between his fingers. Remainng silent. He thought to himself;

"Ah, we should really clean this sacrifical altar. It's already filled with many old rotting bones and it's filled with those things, ew.."

He stood up, gave himself a last final gulp of warm blood that his glass contained and put it back on the table. Stretching his fingers, eyes glowing in this dark complex and the scar over his face still looked somehow fresh. Two guards were standing across the room at the door, while a loud scream was getting closer and closer, through the walls of this old catacomb like area. Someone met their fickle fate, as the scream finally pierced through the door in the sacrifical room. Two guards opened the door, Yami was one of them, standing by the door and watching how Aster and other guards hold some kind of demon, struggling to get out of their grip. Vincent grinned widely.

"Ahah! Finally! I've waited long enough. Did this weakling make trouble to even get this far for you, gentlemen?"

"Please! L-Let go of me! I'm innocent! I did nothing wrong!"

Demon screamed and cried. Vincent frowned, it was getting annoying. Aster and others got the sign too, they grabbed the demon again and pushed them closer to Vincent that was slowly getting furious about the demon's loud wishes.

"Silence, you dirty scum!"

He was so annoyed. Demon was silent as soon as they experienced a bleeding impact to their face, from Vincent's boot. They were dead silent.

"Is that all you came to offer me, guards?"

Cold sweat dropped from their foreheads, cheeks and chins. All of them nodded.

"I see... Well, I shouldn't waste much time so we can continue, am I right, Miss?"

Vincent glaced over to Yami in seducive manner. She looked away rather, any slight reaction of emotions can make her his next meal, she'd never get tricked by such primitive action. She saw too many of her fellow colleagues get gulped down by reacting to his comments.

" . . .please.."

Little whimper broke the silence, Vincent looked down at his victim. They begged, clenching his long coat. He then laughed, kicking the demon away, licking his lips and adjusting his hair. "You know, friend, soft and light innocence is the best what rude and dark sin can get. Can you fulfil the meaning why you're here? To help your kingdom and yet, make it stronger by being a part of me? I think, it's a big honor..." His lusty words were slowly accompanied by his long snake like hisses, too late, somehow, words of his were true but also lies. Confusing his victim, he finally gripped his meal with his hand and lift it up, staring in demon's eyes.

"Purity is the most satisfying pleasure, and I really crave for that~"

In this moment, everyone looked away. Can jaws like this, open this much? Snake swallowed his prey without hitch. Body slowly slid through Vincent's throat and ended somewhere deep down within the man's cursed stomach. No single drip of blood, no single bone or meat left. He licked his fingers and looked over to his guards that weren't looking. His expression looked guilty and angry now because of them.

"It's over, idiots. Back to your positions..!"
